Der VfB Eichstätt II bleibt auch im siebten Spiel in Folge ungeschlagen. Die Elf vom Trainerduo Michael Olah und Josef Weidenhiller gewann auch beim TSV Lichtenau, Tabellendritter der Kreisliga 1 Donau/Isar mit 2:0 (2:0) Toren und bleibt auch nach dem achten Spieltag an der Tabellenspitze.
Lichtenau ging sehr motiviert oder sogar übermotiviert in dieses Spitzenspiel und kassierte in der Anfangsphase prompt zwei Gelbe Karten. Auch der ehemalige VfB-Spieler Valentin sah zunächst Gelb und kassierte nach 27 Minuten auch noch eine Zeitstrafe. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt führte der VfB durch ein Tor von Tom Wasztl auch verdient mit 1:0 (17.).
Als Samuel Schmid einen Elfmeter sicher zum 0:2 verwandelte (39.) ging es verdient mit einem Zweitorevorsprung in die Halbzeit. Auch nach dem Wechsel ließ die sattelfeste VfB-Abwehr nichts anbrennen und brachte die Führung ins Ziel.
